Boy Scouts
Emmanuel has sponsored Boy Scout Troop 290 since 1970. This troop is part of the Great Sauk Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and is open to boys ages 10 to 17.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is "to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law." The three goals of Scouting are:
- Character and leadership development
- Teach each Scout self-discipline and respect for others
- Give back to the community with high regard to personal honor and duty to God and country
The troop meets at the church Sundays 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. For more information contact Paul Tramp, Scoutmaster (734-482-4454; scoutmaster@troop290.us), or visit Troop 290's web page.
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment.”
