Jerry Hubbard has served as our organist for over fifty years. In 1954 he began playing at our early worship service and as a substitute for Betty Fenker, who served as organist at the late morning worship service. Upon Betty's death in 1970 he became the organist for all worship services at Emmanuel. Jerry is responsible for the preparation of the occasional music performed before, during and after worship service, and leads the congregation by playing the hymns. In addition he plays the piano for choir rehearsals and for the Sunday School opening in the sanctuary, and accompanies the Chancel Choirs and assorted soloists. Jerry is a life-long member of Emmanuel Lutheran, and has served on the church council and worship committee. Emmanuel is blessed for the presence of such a servant as Jerry.
