Habitat for Humanity - Thrivent Builds banner

In 2009, Habitat for Humanity partnered with Thrivent Builds to construct one house in Ypsilanti located at 956 Watling in Ypsilanti. The build began on June 13, 2009 and was completed in September, with a dedication ceremony held on September 20th.

Emmanuel Lutheran was one of fifteen area churches who partnered for this build, the fifth house sponsored by the Huron Valley Thrivent chapter in four years. Our members were among many who volunteered their time and energy in the build process. Emmanuel members also raised a total of $1,000 in financial support of materials purchases.

Be sure to visit this page in spring of 2010 as plans for the next build season are finalized.

If you have further questions, contact Michele Wenzel (Emmanuel's congregational representative for Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley) or the church office.
