Pastor's Message

July / August 2009

Greetings to the People of God:

I have been asking a simple question of leaders and folks in general. The question really is not an original thought of mine. It was taken from a rather one-sided conversation between Jesus and Peter in the Gospel of John (you can find the original story in John 21:15-19). It is at the heart of one’s faith in my opinion.

So I ask this question of all of you. Do you love Jesus? I am not asking about a congregation, a denomination or even your theological perspective. It is a simple question. DO YOU LOVE JESUS? Is this love for Jesus at the core of your faith and life? When in doubt do you turn to Jesus?

It is a very loaded question. It is a question that too few Christians tend to ask themselves. Far too many are content with loving everything and anything other than Jesus when it comes to their Christian walk.

How does your faith change if you love Jesus? Soaked from a cold rain and surrounded by darkness does loving Jesus change things for you? Caught in the uncertainty of the times can loving Jesus and being loved by Jesus make a difference?

DO YOU LOVE JESUS?

Does it make a difference to know that Jesus loves you?

One of Christ’s servants,

Pastor Dave-Child of God
